“The shape of water” is a photographic workshop focused on nature waters photography with a darkroom experience; a full immersion through a whole weekend side by side with a professional photographer, structured through a one day excursion along a mountain creek up to its springs located in the heart of Abruzzi National Park mountain ranges, Central Italy, to develop topics related to the nature waters shooting photographic techniques and the proper use of tripods and ND and polarizer filters, followed by a darkroom session to explore film processing and B&W printing with analog and mixed analog/digital techniques.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in photography and nature and to those photographers who aim to improve photographic skills on nature and landscape photography and traditional black and white processing and printing techniques. Topics ranging from photographic composition to use of filters will be addressed, with a final introduction to darkroom, film processing, and black and white printing on variable contrast photo papers.

A film camera is required for those who wish to use and process film. It is also possible to use a digital camera to produce digital printed negatives; in this case, participants must bring their own laptop computer with photo enhancing software installed (preferably Adobe Photoshop).

A tripod and ND and polarizing filters are required for each participant.

The workshop will be held in English.
