“The wind through the trees” is a photographic workshop focused on nature landscape photography with a darkroom experience; a full immersion through a whole weekend side by side with a professional photographer, structured through a one day easy walk through the beech, maple and oak forests of Alfedena – a little mountain village located in the heart of Abruzzi National Park, Central Italy – with their monumental trees, to develop topics related to the symbolism of the trees in a nature landscape photographic essay, followed by a darkroom session to explore film processing and B&W printing with analog and mixed analog/digital techniques.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in photography and nature and to those photographers who aim to improve photographic skills on nature and landscape photography and traditional black and white processing and printing techniques. Topics ranging from photographic composition to use of filters will be addressed, with a final introduction to darkroom, film processing, and black and white printing on variable contrast photo papers.

A film camera is required for those who wish to use and process film. It is also possible to use a digital camera to produce digital printed negatives; in this case, participants must bring their own laptop computer with photo enhancing software installed (preferably Adobe Photoshop).

The workshop will be held in English.

Workshop is scheduled as follows:
